Glastonbury Without the Crash: How We Kept Glampville Going All Weekend

Glastonbury is incredible, but physiologically, it’s demanding. Heat, alcohol, long days, short nights, inconsistent nutrition. By day two or three, most people aren’t operating at their best.

Last year at Glampville, we set out to change that. Effect Doctors were on-site, delivering IV drips and targeted recovery treatments, working alongside a premium glamping environment designed to reduce the usual stressors of the festival. Alcohol, caffeine, heat, and prolonged activity rapidly deplete both fluids and electrolytes, leading to headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and reduced cognitive function.

By the time people realise they’re dehydrated, they’re already behind. Even in the best campsites, sleep takes a hit, and across multiple nights, this compounds into slower recovery, reduced energy output, and increased perception of fatigue. Irregular eating, high alcohol intake, and limited micronutrient intake further contribute to energy dips, poor recovery, and increased oxidative stress.

How Glampville supports recovery

At Glampville, we focused on rapid, targeted physiological support. Our IV therapy delivered premium drips containing fluids for rehydration, electrolytes for cellular function, pain relief medications, anti-nausea medications, anti-inflammatory agents, and vitamins to support energy metabolism. Because this is delivered intravenously, it bypasses the gut, which is particularly useful when appetite is low or nausea is present. We also provided booster shots – short, targeted intramuscular treatments designed to support energy, recovery, and general wellbeing, with minimal downtime. The goal was not just recovery but same-day turnaround; instead of losing half a day to fatigue or hangover symptoms, most clients were back out enjoying the festival within hours.

The environment at Glampville played a critical role in this. Proper beds allowed for meaningful sleep, shaded spaces reduced heat stress, better food improved baseline nutrition, and close proximity (with 24-hour shuttle service) to the festival reduced the physical drain of moving around the site. This meant our treatments were more effective because the fundamentals were already in place. The very elements that make Glampville the ultimate sanctuary for rest and recovery are exactly what make it the premier glamping experience for Glastonbury.

Helping you have your best Glastonbury Festival

Festivals do not have to mean running yourself into the ground. With the right setup, you can maintain energy across multiple days, recover quickly when needed, and stay fully present for the experience. That is where Effect Doctors fits in. We partnered with Glampville to bring clinical-grade IV therapy directly to festival-goers in a premium setting, helping people experience Glastonbury at their best rather than spending half of it recovering.
