An NMC-registered nurse takes your sample at our Soho or Westfield clinic, or at your home or hotel. A doctor then explains your results and any next steps, and you get a report you can share with your GP.

2. Attend your test
An NMC-registered qualified nurse takes your blood sample, which we send to the accredited laboratory best suited to your test.
3. Understand your results and next steps
Your results arrive by email, and one of our doctors explains what each marker shows. Where appropriate, they’ll recommend a personalised plan, which may include IV drips, IM boosters or HBOT.

I had my treatment at the Westfield Clinic and was treated by Dr. Nathan. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m looking forward to future treatments with the clinic.
The Clinic is very clean and tidy, just finding may be a difficult for some as the signage for clinic is a bit small.
Best way to get to the Soho clinic at Tottenham Court Road will be via public transport as trying to find a parking space is a bit difficult to locate.
The staff were very good, caring and compassionate, the Doctor and nurses are very knowledgeable.
The best thing about this clinic is that the prices are not hidden and you can discuss other issues, which they are happy to discuss with you and they spend the time with you to explain everything.

The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable, the clinic is clean, modern and well-presented, and my 60 minute session in the hypobaric chamber left me feeling relaxed and invigorated. I shall certainly be back, and very happily recommend Effect Doctors.

Do all tests involve blood samples?
Not always. While we refer to all our services as “blood tests” for simplicity, some panels may require saliva or urine samples instead. We also offer specialist options such as gut microbiome testing. If you’re unsure which test is right for you, our team will guide you through the options and recommend the most suitable approach.
Do I need to fast before my blood test?
Some tests, such as cholesterol or glucose, require fasting for 8–12 hours. If fasting is needed, we’ll confirm this when you book.
How quickly will I get my results?
Most of our results are received via email within 5 to 7 working days, We ensure that your results will be provided quickly and accurately. Specialist panels may take slightly longer, but you’ll be advised in advance.
Can I book a home or hotel visit instead of coming to the clinic?
Yes. Our nurses can come to your home or hotel anywhere in London, offering the same professional care as our Soho or Westfield clinics.
Who performs the blood tests?
All tests are taken by qualified doctors and analysed by London’s leading UKAS-accredited laboratories, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Can I request a bespoke blood test panel?
Absolutely. We can create tailored panels to suit your health concerns, combining general health, hormone, nutrition or specialist tests.
Why choose a private blood test instead of waiting for an NHS appointment?
A private blood test gives you fast access to testing and results without needing to meet NHS referral criteria first. It suits you if you want a broader panel than a GP would routinely order, or simply want answers sooner.
It sits alongside NHS care rather than replacing it. If something needs following up, we’ll tell you and you can take our report to your GP.
Can I use private blood test results with my NHS GP?
Yes, and many patients do, to support further investigation or treatment. We provide a clear report you can pass on, though your GP will decide on any next steps within NHS pathways.
Should I avoid alcohol before a blood test?
For most general tests it isn’t essential, but we’d recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before tests involving liver function or cholesterol, as it can temporarily affect results. If you’re unsure, our team will confirm any specific preparation when you book.
Can I drink water before a blood test?
Yes, and we encourage it. Staying well hydrated makes your veins easier to access and your blood test more comfortable, and water doesn’t affect fasting requirements.
