Gut & Metabolic Health

Bloating, reflux, constipation, food reactions or unpredictable digestion are often treated as something to live with rather than something to properly investigate. Many people are given a label – most commonly IBS – that describes what’s happening but never explains why.

This package pairs the GI 360, one of the most comprehensive gut tests available, with 1:1 support from a specialist functional gut health practitioner from Peach Health.

About Peach Health

Peach is a functional health practice dedicated to helping people understand and improve their health in a highly personalised, data-informed way. Effect Doctors has partnered with Peach to provide advanced functional gut testing and specialist 1:1 nutritional support.

Your dedicated Peach practitioner will start by understanding any existing test results you have done with Effect Doctors, and if appropriate, recommend investigating deeper with the GI 360 gut test.

In-depth, 1:1 support from specialist practitioners

When you work with Peach, your results are just the starting point. From day one you’re paired with a dedicated practitioner who specialises in gut health, and who stays with you throughout the process:

Your intake session. A 1:1 session to go through your health history, symptoms, and any testing you’ve already done with Effect Doctors – so nothing gets repeated or missed.

Your GI 360 test. If recommended by your practitioner, they will arrange the GI 360 test kit to be shipped directly to you. You collect your sample, and send it back to the lab.

Your results review. Your practitioner walks you through what the GI 360 test found and what it means for you specifically, in the context of your overall health and life stage.

Your 1:1 nutrition sessions. Covering nutrition strategy, supplementation, lifestyle and progress, your practitioner will support and guide you through making lifestyle changes, and adjust your plan as your body responds.

The GI 360 test: a more complete picture of your gut

Most standard gut tests look for a handful of common pathogens and report back a simple positive or negative.
The GI 360 looks deeper, combining DNA analysis, culture-based testing and microscopy to assess the full landscape of your gut microbiome, alongside markers of digestion, inflammation and immune function. This depth of insight often spots patterns and explains symptoms that standard testing leaves unanswered.

The test analyses 45+ gut markers, across four areas:

  • Microbiome diversity & balance – a comprehensive picture of your microbiome, including patterns of imbalance (dysbiosis)
  • Pathogens, parasites & yeasts – identification of harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites and yeasts (including candida)
  • Inflammation & immune response – markers of gut inflammation including calprotectin, plus immune activity and gut lining integrity
  • Digestion & absorption – whether your gut is breaking down and absorbing food properly

Who it’s for

The Gut & Metabolic Health package is likely a good fit if you’re dealing with:

  • IBS or persistent bloating – when you’ve been told you have IBS but no one has investigated why
  • Fatigue & brain fog – the gut produces a significant proportion of the body’s serotonin and communicates constantly with the brain
  • Food sensitivities – a compromised gut lining and disrupted bacterial balance can both heighten immune responses to food
  • Skin conditions – eczema, acne and rosacea are frequently linked to gut inflammation and often don’t fully respond to topical treatment alone
  • Hormonal symptoms – gut bacteria play a direct role in how oestrogen is metabolised and cleared
  • Inflammatory bowel conditions – the GI 360 can uncover what might be sustaining inflammation alongside conventional treatment

Frequently Asked Questions

Discover some of our most commonly asked questions

I've been diagnosed with IBS - can this help?

IBS is one of the most common reasons people come to Peach. It’s a label for a pattern of symptoms – bloating, pain, diarrhoea, constipation – rather than a root-cause diagnosis. It describes what’s happening, but not why. The GI 360 helps identify potential drivers such as bacterial imbalances, SIBO, impaired digestive function or food sensitivities, so your plan targets the cause rather than managing symptoms blindly.

I've already done testing with Effect Doctors - how will you use it?

Your intake session starts by reviewing everything you’ve already done, so your practitioner builds on it rather than duplicating it.

How long until I see results?

It varies with symptom severity and how long you’ve had them. Many clients notice improvements within the first four to eight weeks – better energy, clearer digestion, improved sleep. Longer-standing or more complex issues typically take two to six months of consistent work. Your practitioner will set realistic expectations from the start.

Can I do this alongside my GP or consultant?

Absolutely – Peach encourages it. Functional nutrition is complementary to conventional care, not a replacement. Peach will share relevant findings and liaise with your medical team where helpful.

Where does the test happen?

At home. The GI 360 is a stool test with a simple home collection kit delivered to you and returned to the lab.

Are sessions in person or online?

Peach is a digital clinic, so your 1:1 sessions happen online at times that fit around your life.
