About the MenB vaccine

Bexsero®️ is a vaccine that protects against meningococcal group B (MenB) bacteria, a serious cause of meningitis and septicaemia that can progress rapidly and become life-threatening.

In individuals aged over 2 years, including adolescents and adults, the vaccine is given as a two-dose course, with the second dose administered at least 1 month after the first.

This two-dose schedule is required to generate a strong and sustained immune response, as a single dose provides only limited protection. Full immunity develops after completion of the course, typically within a couple of weeks following the second injection.
