High dose Vitamin C cannot be booked online and requires a blood test and discussion with one of our team.

If you have a deficiency in the G6PD enzyme, it can be unsafe to administer doses of Vitamin C above 10g. The prevalence of G6PD deficiency varies depending on your race, with people of an African and Mediterranean descent experiencing a prevalence of 1 in 100.

To ensure safety, it is crucial to obtain a G6PD blood test result before administering any dose larger than 10g of Vitamin C. This blood test only needs to be done once in your lifetime.

If you don’t have a G6PD blood test in your medical records, we can conduct the test for you. At the same time, if desired, we can administer a 7.5g dose of Vitamin C. If the test result is normal, further treatment at larger doses can be pursued.
